1980-90 - Buckmaster Puppets

During this time we decided to purchase a Motor Home, which became our home from home and was used as a dressing room, but of course we had to share it with the puppets! We followed with similar season tours for Warners and dates for Haven. Winter months found us playing the club scene in the South and South Wales and a Pantomime, Puss In Boots, in Hinkley. We also had the pleasure of playing several Civic Theatres in The Terry Hall & Lenny the Lion Shows. It was nice to be back in the Theatres once again.

We were slowly winding down in Showbiz and spending our spare time helping with our son’s twin boys. Years of entertaining families meant he thought we were more than qualified for this! At the age of 65, I and my wife retired with many happy memories.  By this time our daughter had two daughters and, yes you’ve guessed it, we became very involved grandparents! Our son, Stephen Buckmaster, has successfully used his training in the Navy to go into Sales Management and our daughter, Sue Buckmaster, followed our footprints into show business as Artistic Director of Theatre-Rites creating productions with puppets & actors.
