Late 50's

During these years, if you were travelling on a Sunday between venues, Acts used to play the Burtonwood U.S. Base Cabaret and it was on one of these I met my future wife, Julie Elliott, who was there with her Family Act, The Musical Elliotts. So when I played my first summer season in Blackpool on the North Pier in the Charlie Parsons Show I was delighted to meet up with Julie again who was playing the nearby Queens Theatre with her family for the season. The following Summer season I was booked at the Squiresgate Holiday Camp, Blackpool, in their resident show. For Winter I did a tour of the Christmas Pantomime, Red Riding Hood. In l959 I did a season at the D.M.W. Holiday Centre Skegness, the same show as the Musical Elliotts were appearing.  Julie and I were married in November. She left her family act and joined The Buckmaster Puppets. Our honeymoon was spent in Germany playing the U.S bases, returning to entertain at the usual Christmas hotel and party bookings.
